ABOUT
THE ART
It is hard to describe Maggie Lindley Designs. It
could be art. It could be a dressed-up quotation.
It could be just fun. One thing is for sure though:
we hope it is a reminder of our souls' deepest longings.
Basically, the art is based on this idea that we are
all made for perfection--that a long, long, long time
ago, we were flawless. But the problem is this: our
soul remembers that, and is continually disappointed
by the imperfection of this present world. The incredible
thing about us though, is the fact that we aren't
completely daunted by the imperfection we live in.
Actually, amidst fear and loneliness and hurt and
sadness, we are still hoping, believing, dreaming,
loving, giggling and just being.
The art (or pictures or wall-thingies) is intended
to be a reminder of what we were all made for. At
its best, it will make us get that good ache in our
hearts--the ache that assures us that we are still
alive, that we haven't turned off our sensibilities
to avoid the arrows that come our way, and that we're
headed for perfection. At its worst, well, it'll fill
space on your wall.
Let us know what you think of all of this...the art,
or just our philosophy. Our goal, while we're here,
is relationship, after all.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Maggie Lindley lives just outside of Nashville in
Franklin, Tennessee. Her husband, Matt, is her faithful
business partner, who traded in the excitement of
Washington, D.C. for a more peaceful adventure alongside
Maggie. In May of 2006, Matt and Maggie added a most
welcome member to the family: Win Lindley. Although
Win was never a sleepy baby, they were sure that was
due to his insatiable zest for life--especially when
it forced them to be up and singing at 3 in the morning.
Meanwhile, Norm, the cat, ferociously guards the back
door, begging to come inside and unsuccessfully hunting
Blue Jays.
Maggie
wishes she read more, has a deep love for pie, and
delights in her herb garden, especially when it appears
to be growing. And most of all, she enjoys the abundance
which occasionally moves through her soul.
